EXCELLENT POINT! My father's family comes from the deep woods of East Texas. They all grew up hunting and fishing. Some of them raised livestock. Several were skilled mechanics. One raced cars. Two were teamsters. NOT A CONSERVATIVE OR REPUBLICON ONE.

One sired my Jewish cousins.
None spent time in jail. None were cannibals, satanists, klansmen, drug smugglers, moon-shiners, snake-handlers or any other hillbilly stereotype you care to name.
