Something for the Creationists to Gag On.

It was the LOW oxygen level of the Mesozoic Era that favored the lung design seen in archosaurs (crocodilians). dinosaurs and birds.

The 4 chambered heart also evolved in archosaurs to deal with LOW oxygen levels.

These same characteristics give birds their endurance and allow them to fly at high altitudes where the air is thin.

It was the LOW oxygen level of the Mesazoic that favored the loss of the lower ribs in mammals and the development of a powerful diaphragm that could pump air in and out of the lungs. This is what allows mammals to gallop, bending their backs in the vertical plane, instead of swinging their asses sideways like lizards.

Yousefa's golden paragraph and other bullshit
by Michael W Gooch on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 9:41pm
Flavius Josephus is a highly respected and much-quoted Romano-Jewish historian. The early Christians were zealous readers of his work.

A native of Judea, living in the 1st century AD, Josephus was actually governor of Galilee for a time (prior to the war of 70 AD) – the very province in which Jesus allegedly did his wonders. Though not born until 37 AD and therefore not a contemporary witness to any Jesus-character, Josephus at one point even lived in Cana, the very city in which Christ is said to have wrought his first miracle.

Josephus's two major tomes are History of The Jewish War and The Antiquities of the Jews. In these complementary works, the former written in the 70s, the latter in the 90s AD, Josephus mentions every noted personage of Palestine and describes every important event which occurred there during the first seventy years of the Christian era.

At face value, Josephus appears to be the answer to the Christian apologist's dreams.

In a single paragraph (the so-called Testimonium Flavianum) Josephus confirms every salient aspect of the Christ-myth:

1. Jesus's existence 2. his 'more than human' status 3. his miracle working 4. his teaching 5. his ministry among the Jews and the Gentiles 6. his Messiahship 7. his condemnation by the Jewish priests 8. his sentence by Pilate 9. his death on the cross 10. the devotion of his followers 11. his resurrection on the 3rd day 12. his post-death appearance 13. his fulfillment of divine prophesy 14. the successful continuance of the Christians.

In just 127 words Josephus confirms everything – now that is a miracle!

BUT WAIT A MINUTE ...

Not a single writer before the 4th century – not Justin, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Cyprian, Arnobius, etc. – in all their defences against pagan hostility, makes a single reference to Josephus’ wondrous words.

The third century Church 'Father' Origen, for example, spent half his life and a quarter of a million words contending against the pagan writer Celsus. Origen drew on all sorts of proofs and witnesses to his arguments in his fierce defence of Christianity. He quotes from Josephus extensively. Yet even he makes no reference to this 'golden paragraph' from Josephus, which would have been the ultimate rebuttal. In fact, Origen actually said that Josephus was "not believing in Jesus as the Christ."

Origen did not quote the 'golden paragraph' because this paragraph had not yet been written.

It was absent from early copies of the works of Josephus and did not appear in Origen's third century version of Josephus, referenced in his Contra Celsum.

REALITY CHECK

In fact, the Josephus paragraph about Jesus does not appear until the beginning of the fourth century, at the time of Constantine.

Bishop Eusebius, that great Church propagandist and self-confessed liar-for-god, was the first person known to have quoted this paragraph of Josephus, about the year 340 AD. This was after the Christians had become the custodians of religious correctness.

Michael W Gooch Acts 5:30 (Young's Literal Translation)

30and the God of our fathers did raise up Jesus, whom ye slew, having hanged upon a tree;

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+5%3A30&version=YLT

This passage reveals an oversight on the author's part. While the real sage known as Jesus was hanged from a tree after being stoned to death his portrayal on a cross is a representation of the zodiac axis. And note that the 12 disciples are simply the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Michael W Gooch Yeshu the sorcerer

Sanhedrin 43a relates the trial and execution of Yeshu and his five disciples. Here, Yeshu is a sorcerer who has enticed other Jews to apostasy. A herald is sent to call for witnesses in his favour for forty days before his execution. No one comes forth and in the end he is stoned and hanged on the Eve of Passover. His five disciples, named Matai, Nekai, Netzer, Buni, and Todah are then tried. Word play is made on each of their names, and they are executed. It is mentioned that leniency could not be applied because of Yeshu's influence with the royal government (malkhut).

The meaning of crucifixion
by Michael W Gooch on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:21pm
Crucifixion refers to something or someone being mounted or affixed to a cross. The method of execution whereby a criminal was affixed to a TAU or X shaped frame might have been referred to as crucifixion. In some cases the person may have been hung from a cross shape. This might have been a type of human sacrifice where a criminal was symbolically affixed to a cross representing the axis of the zodiac. It would be fitting if the victim was a holy man. This might apply to the rituals honoring the Celtic forest god Esse or the Story of Shiva who was impaled on a tree by an arrow.

It is incredibly mis-leading when the Zeitgeist crew refer to Horus being crucified. Horus may have been depicted on the axis of the zodiac but none of his stories have him dying by crucifixion. He was however immaculately conceived though Isis' status as a virgin is un-proveable. His father Osiris was betrayed and murdered by Seth then ressurected by Isis. After she re-assembled his body she could not find his phallus so she crafted one out of clay then made love to him.

ON the Winter Solstice the sun sets in the vicinity of the Southern Cross. There are three days where it rises and sets in the same place with no visible movement north. This is likely the origin of the death and resurrection stories common in the near East.

On a side note...

Human sacrifice in ancient meso america mirrors the middle eastern stories in alot of ways.

Life is because of the gods; with their sacrifice they gave us life [...]. They produce our sustenance [...] which nourishes life.[10]

Victims were considered God incarnate and there bodies were eaten afterwords mirroring the communion of christianity but in a much more realistic way.

During the 20-day month of Toxcatl, a young impersonator of Tezcatlipoca would be sacrificed. Throughout a year, this youth would be dressed as Tezcatlipoca and treated as a living incarnation of the God. The youth would represent Tezcatlipoca on earth; he would get four beautiful women as his companions until he met his destiny, in the meantime he walked through the streets of Tenochtitlan playing a flute. On the day of the sacrifice a feast would be held in Tezcatlipoca's honor. The young man would climb the pyramid, break his flute and surrender his body to the priests. SahagĂșn compared it to the Christian Easter.[21]

Jesus

Mark 14:12-14 (Young's Literal Translation)

12And the first day of the unleavened food, when they were killing the passover, his disciples say to him, `Where wilt thou, [that,] having gone, we may prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?'

13And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith to them, `Go ye away to the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water, follow him;

14and wherever he may go in, say ye to the master of the house -- The Teacher saith, Where is the guest-chamber, where the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?

This passage is a reference to the dawning of the Age of Aquarias, what we would refer to as 2150-4300. In this age Aquarius will be behind the Sun on the Vernal Equinox. Hear is a picture of the "Water Bearer" superimposed on his constellation.

The early christians had no problem understanding that the new era (1 BCE - 2150 BCE) was the Age of Pisces Just as the exodus represented the change from the Age of Taurus (the golden calf) to the Age of Aries. Thought not mentioned on this page the two fish with which Jesus fed the masses represent the two fish in the constellation of Pisces.

The zoomorphic form of the Codex Borgianus, from 15th-century Mexico. It represents the 'Crucified Saviour of the New World.' The Spanish monks who first went to Mexico were surprised to find the crucifix there and discovered it to be a representation of the death of Quetzalcoatl.

Swedish scholar: 'Jesus was not crucified'

Published: 28 Jun 10 10:52 CET

A Swedish theologian has claimed that Jesus may not have have been crucified as there is no evidence to indicate that the Romans crucified prisoners 2,000 years ago.

According to Gunnar Samuelsson of Gothenburg University, the story of Jesus' execution is based on Christian traditions and artistic illustrations, not antique texts, according to a recently published doctoral thesis entitled "Crucifixion in Antiquity - An Inquiry into the Background of the New Testament Terminology of Crucifixion".

Samuelsson, a committed Christian, alleges the Bible has been misinterpreted, saying there are no explicit references to the use of nails or to crucifixion - only that Jesus bore a "staurus" towards Calvary, which can also mean "pole," his research states.

Samuelsson 400-page thesis is based on close study of the original texts and was submitted at the university last month.

"The problem is descriptions of crucifixions are remarkably absent in the antique literature," Samuelsson said in an interview with the UK Daily Telegraph. "The sources where you would expect to find support for the established understanding of the event really don't say anything."

Ancient Greek, Latin and Hebrew literature from Homer to the first century describe a number of suspension punishments, but none mention "crosses" or "crucifixion."

"Consequently, the contemporary understanding of crucifixion as a punishment is severely challenged," Samuelsson told the newspaper. "And what's even more challenging is the same can be concluded about the accounts of the crucifixion of Jesus. The New Testament doesn't say as much as we'd like to believe."

There is little evidence to suggest that Jesus was left to die after being nailed to a cross, both in ancient pre-Christian and extra-Biblical literature as well as the Bible.

Samuelsson admitted that it is easy to react emotionally instead of logically to the research that is so close to the heart of his faith. He added that the actual execution texts do not describe how Jesus was attached to the execution device.

"This is the heart of the problem. The text of the passion narratives is not that exact and information loaded, as we Christians sometimes want it to be," Samuelsson explained.

"If you are looking for texts that depict the act of nailing persons to a cross you will not find any beside the Gospels."

Contemporary literature all use the same vague terminology, including those in Latin. Meanwhile, the Latin word "crux" does not necessarily refer to a cross, nor patibulum refer to a cross-beam.

But despite the findings of his research Samuelsson does not suggest that Christians should reject of doubt the biblical and argued that believed that Jesus was indeed the son of God and argued that there is strong documented evidence to show that "a man named Jesus existed in that part of the world and in that time".

"My suggestion is that we should read the text as it is, not as we think it is. We should read on the lines, not between the lines. The text of the Bible is sufficient. We do not need to add anything," he told the newspaper.

I'm no atheist. Atheism is just another alternative fairy tale. It's the controlled oppostion to religion in the same way that the democrats are the controlled opposition to the republicans and vice/versa. Atheism is the poison in the well of truth where spirituality is concerned in the same way that alex jones and texx mars are where conspiracy research is concerned. So enjoy the video but be ready to be offended

What kind of nation do you get when 8 our of every 10 people believe in fairy tales as if they were reality?
